"Using light and patterns, Jaime Snyder's collections of cut paper drawings
accentuate the topology of interior architecture, gathering in corners, crevices,
along edges and surfaces. Working with different spaces, ranging from abandoned
buildings to art studios, Snyder's drawings draw out a similarity between the
artificial mark and the accumulations made by nature, her lattice-like drawings
and collections of particles arranged in webbed configurations or clouds of
condensation. With the inclusion of ultraviolet light in combination with
standard incandescent bulbs and daylight, Snyder takes advantage of the eye's
natural response to changing light level, transforming these installations
into undulating visual stimulus that morphs understated mark-making into
spectacle.
